Expo 2030
Expo 2030 was a project created during Fall 2020 as a semester-long assignment. Our prompt was to develop a full brand, complete with mockups, a full color system, etc., and make a brand book for Expo 2030. I was assigned the city of Birmingham, UK.
The Process
After thorough amounts of research on the city, the history of World Expos, and developing a brief and brand manifesto, I began the visual exploration. I started with hand-drawn sketches and then translated the best options into rough vectors. The image with four similar designs is the final result of the full-color brand mark. There are four versions because it is a dynamic mark.
The OUTCOME
Once I put the Expo 2030 Birmingham brand with the development of color variations, supergraphics, usage rules, typography, and mockups, I placed everything we designed into a brand guideline book.
