THE GIFT GIVING EXPERIENCE
This project’s prompt was to “redesign the gift giving experience” in some way. Each of us were paired up with a partner who we interviewed to gain insight on their perspective when it comes to giving presents. Then, we gave ourselves 10 minutes to generate ideas of a digital product that might help their experience and sketch 5 ideas for what it could be. After sharing our ideas with our partners and exchanging feedback, we had another 10 minutes to create a rough wireframe a singular product. Finally, we swapped wireframes and proceeded to build a high-fidelity prototype based on their sketches. Below is my partner’s sketch alongside my prototype. Created with Adobe XD.
Little Surprises is an app created to make it easier to buy your friend something that they will love. You and your friends can customize your profile with a bio and by uploading images of your interests and/or items you wish you had. While on a friend’s profile, you can like any image/ideas you want to keep in mind for later. Your friends cannot see what you liked, so it will still be a surprise! Toggling the switch on a friend’s profile will show you only the images you have liked.
With Jakob’s Law of UX in mind, I pulled most of my layout inspiration from Instagram and Pinterest, thereby creating a familiar system of navigation. If this project were to continue, I would conduct user testing with this prototype to determine the current usability issues and successes.

REDESIGNING SIGNING SAVVY’S HOME PAGE
While studying ASL in college, I used the website signingsavvy.com often to help me with my studies. Their current website is, to put it bluntly, outdated both in aesthetic and organization. As a quick design exercise, I decided to give Signing Savvy a makeover using Adobe XD. My changes are exhibited in the first image.
